Study Bot

A study planner that runs the session the research says works, which is rarely the one that feels productive.

The end of a Study Bot practice session: a confidence check that calls it slightly miscalibrated (overconfident on two questions to review, underconfident on one) and two follow-up retrieval sessions, two and four days out, spaced by how the session went, with buttons to schedule them or practice the session again

3confidence levels, asked before every answer

In motion

A miss shows the right answer and its passage in your own materials, then adds a repair question.

Why I built it

Generic flashcard apps treat every topic, and every student, the same. They don’t know which concepts you’re shaky on, when you’re free, or what your professor spent 20 minutes on last week. I wanted a planner that knew all three.

What I decided

  • Five modes, each mapped to the research. Retrieval practice, interleaving, a two-phase exam simulation, error repair and worked examples, with breaks built into the runner rather than left to willpower. Each evidence card cites its paper.
  • Confidence first, then the answer. The runner asks whether you’re guessing, unsure or sure, and flags wrong answers you were sure of, because those are the corrections that stick. The end of the session shows where confidence and accuracy parted ways.
  • Nothing leaks before you commit. No hint, excerpt or answer reaches the screen until you’ve answered. The server enforces that, and an end-to-end test covers it.
  • Plans become appointments. The week’s plan downloads as a calendar file or goes straight to Google Calendar.

Screens

A high-confidence miss: a banner says you were sure about this one, so read the correction closely, and that the question will come back for review; below it, the right answer to a question on proving a problem NP-complete and why the tempting pick was wrong
Sure, and wrong: the correction, and why that pick was tempting.
The model answer to a dynamic-programming question on weighted interval scheduling (the recurrence, the base case and the running time), set out to compare with your own before you score it, and the three scoring buttons: correct, partial and incorrect
You score yourself against a model answer.
The first three days of a week’s study plan: two sessions on Friday, the first marked done, two on Saturday and one on Sunday, mixing retrieval, worked examples and interleaved practice, under buttons to download the plan as a calendar file, reschedule missed sessions, create a new plan or delete it
One button reschedules whatever you missed.

Status

Only the interface needs polish before a public build. The engine, modes, knowledge layer and planner are built and tested, with unit, integration and browser suites.
